Home Cookin was one of Southwest Wisconsin most popular progressive country bands. The band worked mostly as a three or four piece in local clubs but almost always performed their larger venues with four or five members. Original members of the group were Butch Bublitz - drums/vocals, Roddy Dull - base guitar/vocals, Sue Houser - violin/vocals and Don Anderson - vocals/harmonica/lead guitar/keyboards and banjo. The group  won local band contests and performed opening act shows for Nashville stars like “The Girls Next Door” and “Bobby Bare”. They recorded a forty five record back in the 80s and played several main stage shows promoting the record after it’s release. Both songs on the record received substantial airplay on local radio stations and were popular enough to get the band a feature stage performance in Merrinette, WI with such famous performers as Roy Orbison and others.

Both songs on the record were original songs written by Roddy Dull. The band recorded the songs at OM studio in Boscobel, Wisconsin and released them on the “Opry Sound “ record label.

Both of these songs can be downloaded for free from this page as well as a live radio performance of a
very popular Ricky Scaggs song that the band performed on WVRQ radio.

The group eventually disbanded  but hopes that their songs will bring back memories for many loyal fans.
